(no subject)

*sigh* I really don't have time to be worrying about this, but I can't decide what classes to take next semester and I don't know who to consult about this problem. Japanese Studies is a huge vast area that I haven't been able to widdle down into that one subject that I want to become an expert in. I don't know how to figure it out by myself. Of course, any conversation about my major begins with "well, what are your interests?" As if there's some kind of magic formal that we can plug my interests into and out plops a possible path to pursue. I don't trust that that will work. I don't have any ambition and it's crushing me. Really, it's not an academic problem at all, so I don't feel justified talking to a professor about it.
