Base Ball Bear--April Mirage
Okay...I'm completely procrastinating at the moment. Usually during this time on Mondays I had two hours of band, but now that it's over I find myself either wandering around campus or listening to music. Go figure.
Anyway...this is the romanization of Base Ball Bear's "April Mirage" which was included on the "Linda Linda Linda" soundtrack (the bassist is IN the movie <3). I was thinking about it all day. Or rather, I was flashing back to LAST April when I had this song on my mind constantly. I miss the daily bus/train trip terribly. I meant to do a translation of this song. But, the problem is that even though I've listened to this song a bajillion times, I'm still not sure if it's actually "good." In fact..about three lines into the translation I could not stop giggling. XD; Base Ball Bear...I don't know what to say. They're average, but there's a spark somewhere? Or they make me giggle. (It's the same story with UVERworld's stuff) I almost want to buy an album to figure out if I actually like them. Almost. If the other song on the "Linda" soundtrack ("Sayonara-Nostalgia") touched me in the same way "April Mirage" did I might be able to believe that I like Base Ball Bear. I mentioned that I've become addicted to Oofuri. Yeah, guess what....the anime OP theme ("Dramatic") is Base Ball Bear. I didn't know this before I started watching, but about three seconds into the OP I'm like..."This sounds like Base Ball Bear..>.> wtf...and it is." So, I'm afraid their "sound" will get boring if I listen to much more. XD; "Dramatic" isn't too bad, but the full version doesn't come out for another month so I can't tell. It reminded me a lot of "April Mirage." Not in the lyrical content, but the sound. April Mirage has...make-out scenes and whiskey-colored something disappearing people and emo rain and stereotypical references to something like the thinking, "our life is like a movie" and kittens! Anyway! Romanization...maybe translation someday when I can conquer the fluffy stuff. XD; And yes, I have a bad habit of not transcribing the katakana words as they are actually said. I just...can't look at "sukatto" in romanji and stay sane for some reason.

This is how I stay sane these days. Mmmm...this song I'm listening to now from the same soundtrack is always relaxing. Why didn't they include all of the "time-wasting" songs from the movie on the soundtrack? I can't remember the name of the dyed-hair girl in the green jumper, but....her song was great and I know she's in a band. If Base Ball Bear can make it onto the soundtrack, why not her band, too? ;-; Less sucky BGM (except for the opening title and「放課後」）and more vocal would have been nice...*sigh*
