Well, I did end up going to the doctor's clinic (not the hospital) on Friday. I really didn't quite understand everything that was going on, but my host mom would have told me if the doctor said anything especially serious was going on. So, I got some meds for intestine problems (powdered, I've never had powdered medicine before, but apparently it's common in Japan) and 3 days later everything seems to be fine. No more pain, so I hope I'm cured. Thankfully, after a few days my host mom has stopped asking me constantly if my stomach hurts. Ah, medical drama. I rested up Saturday, but we also went to the new home center in the evening. ...That place was insane. Huge and packed with people. I can't even imagine working in a place like that. People could get trampled in a store like that and the traffic pattern to leave was fucked up...anyway, the art section was really neat. Basically everything you could possibly need for arts and crafts. Also went to the Pet World section and saw the poor (cutecutecute) animals. They even had ferrets! =O

Incidently, Saturday there were several important events in Kyoto. Jidai matsuri, Kurama himatsuri and such. Some small part of me wanted to go to himatsuri, but I knew it was just going to be wall-to-wall people. I've had bad experiences in the past at himatsuri with crowds, so overall I decided not to go. No desire to be crushed again.

Sunday...it was cold so I stayed in my pajamas and studied like mad. T-T

I'm excited now because my books for my research paper (from amazon japan) came in! I've been angsting about how to approach my topic, but when I casually flipped open one of the books THE INFORMATION I NEEDED WAS RIGHT THERE. OMG YAY! ^O^ (namely, a direct comparision of Yoshimoto Banana's work with the manga of Iwadate Mariko and Ooshima Yumiko.) The problem now is getting manga by Iwadate Mariko and Ooshima Yumiko. ^^; It's hard to find them, although they used to be so popular. I have a couple volumes of Ooshima Yumiko now, but I'm having trouble with Iwadate Mariko. Book-off fails me. Really. They haven't had anything I've really wanted. (not that I'm looking for obscure old manga or anything. *coughcough*) That basement store in Teramachi has a better selection of older books than Book-off anyday.

So, I might have to buy more new manga from Amazon. ...Except I looked at the money I budgeted for manga and...it's getting tight. Ouch. Actually, since it's for school the stuff I'm buying now could be associated with my school book budget (which I've barely used...). I'm not sure if I can get my parents to understand this, though. ^^;; Hahahaha. Anyway, for the time being everything's cool.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) I'm thinking about going to Kameoka matsuri after class. I'm not sure if it's a good idea because Wednesday is extremely busy from 9 o'clock (uggggghhhh) on. Visiting an elementary school, watching a movie, and taking a midterm.

This entry makes no sense. Sorry...

Thank you to Mouse and Nikki for comments of concern! Sorry to make people worry by writing weird LJ entries...
